Grants Scheme


The Society operates a small Grants Scheme, through which individuals can obtain funds (up to £1,000 per year, maximum award of £2,500 over 3 years) to undertake specific projects that are clearly in accordance with the aims of the Society. The Society is not proscriptive as to the nature of the project; it will consider projects of any type where the underlying aim is to advance the study, diffusion or acquisition of knowledge or skills by individuals or communities.

Funded Projects

The Society invites applications for its Research and Study Grant Programme 2017.

The Society joined with the Trades House in awarding prizes  in The Glasgow Modern Apprentice Awards 2017.In 2017 two new awards were introduced: ‘Community Engagement’ and ‘Overcoming Difficulties’sponsored by the Royal Philosophical Society of Glasgow

Grants will be available to support a broad range of research and study activities in the arts, humanities, sciences and other disciplines. All aspects of the costs of research and study will be considered including travel, research networking, publication or dissemination of results, course or conference fees, pump priming for more major research projects, education, training, teaching, outreach to raise awareness in young people and the public in general or otherwise promote public engagement.

Final reports
